Clear operation and monitoring 

 

As the simultaneous interpretation allows no mistakes, we designed it on the basis of the concept which enables clear operation as well as monitoring. Complicated functions were configured so easily that operators who access the ABELON server for the first time can intuitively control the system. Color management was done, considering the dim event hall and the interpretation booth. Indication of function recognizable at a look and contrast use to instantly distinguish on from Off and other details were designed from the user’s perspective. 

NETWORK Module

A.S.A.T (ABELON Stable Audio Technology)

The development specialized in transmitting voice over the Wi-Fi network; an algorithm for the data interpolation, retransmission and synchronization. If A.S.A.T is on, the phenomenon that the voice is cut off will be prevented. 

Bit Rate

Bit rate is the amount of data that is delivered to one client per second. Please use 32~64kbps in normal times. When the network is not busy because of small number of clients, you can set a speed of 256kbps to enjoy high-quality sound. Please be careful when you set a maximum speed, because even if the raw data (uncompressed data) is transmitted at the maximum speed, there can be cases that access becomes unstable due to the network load depending on the number of clients. If the network bandwidth is not enough, you can reduce the bit rate to transmit voice stably.  

Latency

The effect of A.S.A.T. will increase proportional to the latency, which makes it possible to stably transmit a voice. Please use 700~1000 msec in normal times.

OS Ver: A product name or a model number of a client

LANGUAGE Module

 

ON AIR

Initiate / stop voice transmission on the air.

LANGUAGE

If a language in which the voice is transmitted is selected, the language is indicated on the receiving device, which helps a participant conveniently choose a language he or she wants without confusion. Please note there are letters which cannot be indicated depending on the device.    

 

MIC

A microphone or the external voice input device is selectable. It is also compatible with ASIO, which allows the high-quality sound to be transmitted. Select the name of the device starting with “asio.” If “OFF” is chosen, sending the BGM only is also possible. 

 

Sample Rate

The sampling frequency of the voice input device is selectable. In normal voice/music transmission, set the rate to 48 kHz which is the most efficient. 

 

With regard to Hi-Reso transmission

If you select a raw bitrate of the network module, and choose the sampling rate of 88.2 kHz or 96.0 kHz in the language module, you can transmit a high resolution sound source. If you use a voice device compatible with ASIO for 96kHz/24bit, you can also transmit a high resolution quality sound. 

Channel conversion

Select [St] in normal times. If the monoral voice input is heard in only one side of the ear, either right or left, select [R] or [L] to make it heard at the center.

 

Phase

The phase of the input voice is reversed.

 

Comp

If Comp is “On,” the compressor effect works to make sound more clearly heard by restricting the intonation of the sound pressure or stressing the consonant. The compressor is controlled on the Settings screen. 

 

EQ

If EQ is “On,” the equalizer effect which controls the frequency characteristic applies. This can be controlled on the [settings] screen. 

 

Setting

Open the [settings] screen either of Compressor or Equalizer. 

 

BGM

BGM can be transmitted before an event or in an interval. Add music files by clicking [ADD] to play music. Songs are repeatedly played in order. Click [Del] to delete songs in playlists.

MONITOR

You can monitor voice of transmitter. Select the name of the device starting with “asio”, which allows you to monitor the sound with a playback device compatible with ASIO.

Monitor volume is adjustable without interference with sound transmitted to devices.

Mute

Mute monitor sound

Solo

If you want to monitor the sound in a certain language module, click Solo. Solo works effectively when operating the multi-language module.

Client

Devices set up to the corresponding language module are displayed.

Fade

Fader adjusts input audio volume. When the volume exceeds the maximum level for transmission, sound will cut off and clip indicators will illuminate in red. 

Mute

Mute microphone.

FO

BGM can automatically fade out. Fading audio out to INF (silence) will naturally stop the music.
